Our Story
Hi, I'm Grace, wife and mum to two young girls. Milky Threads Co was born in the quiet of a 2am feed with my youngest, tears in my eyes, tired of trying to fit my postpartum body into clothes that just weren't made for the new version of me. The industry was delivering expensive, poor fitting and terrible quality breastfeeding fashion that at times fell apart after their first wash.
Everything felt like a compromise, so I decided to make the tees that I couldn't find myself: great quality, affordable and stylish.
Our brand philosophy
Postpartum breastfeeding fashion, to me, often felt like I had to become a new person - stylish, always dressed well, looking and feeling great. That's not the reality for so many postpartum mums. I wanted to create staple pieces you could just throw on without adding more decisions into your day. Milky Threads Co was designed to help you feel put together when you probably haven't washed your hair in a week or two, there's no makeup in sight, milk stains have become your new signature accessory, and you just need easy, comfortable and affordable.
Made for mums, by a mum
I'm not designing fashion from the outside looking in, I'm in the thick of it too, right alongside you. As a mum and Registered Nurse, I know firsthand that no two postpartum journeys are ever the same. For me, that looked like stupidly envisioning I would bounce back to my pre-baby size 8 body within weeks and I would miraculously fit in to all my clothes again. Oh boy, how I was wrong. I soon realised that I would need another new wardrobe but this time, it needed to have easy boob access. Every piece I have designed with the day-to-day reality of postpartum life in mind: easy feeding access, pure comfort, and a look you actually feel like you in.
